December/January Books & A Christmas Book Swap!

Hi Ladies!

So, it's been a week or two since our last book club and I finally found some time to sit down and blog my picks for the next meeting! We also need to find a date for our Christmas book swap... How about we vote for December 3rd or 10th in the comments - also, not sure about location... I know y'all met at Urban Standard last year, but if we need to we can always meet at my casa.

Also, date options to discuss our book are January 7th or 14th.

Now, on to the books!


First up, we have a book that came highly recommended from a friend of mine who I consider an avid reader with great taste...

Transcribing America as it once was before railways and roads connected its corners, Amanda Coplin weaves a tapestry of solitary souls who come together in the wake of unspeakable cruelty and misfortune. She writes with breathtaking precision and empathy, and in The Orchardist she crafts an astonishing debut novel about a man who disrupts the lonely harmony of an ordered life when he opens his heart and lets the world in.
